ABSTRACT
The article discusses the plan of Continental AG to build a tire plant in the U.S. Conti Chairman Elmar Degenhart said that the investment for the greenfield tire plant was approved by the German firm's supervisory board. Conti also announced plans to expand its Mount Vernon, Illinois, facility at the cost of 224 million dollars. The tire maker wants to cover rising demand in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region, according to Degenhart.
