This article reports on the demonstration of the Geospatial Location Accountability and Navigation System for Emergency Responders (GLANSER) by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at a fire and rescue conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2011. The system will be used to track firefighters inside buildings in three dimensions and in real-time. The department is contracting with a team consisting of Honeywell, Argon ST and TRX for the project.
