ABSTRACT
The article discusses the advantages of using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or cloud computing in handling supply chain activities in metals service centers. It states that SaaS system allows service centers to access data and important information on highly secure remote servers via the Internet and to connect supply chain with the electronic data interchange (EDI). Several factors to consider in implementing this system are also provided.
