ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the application of internet protocol (IP) network backbones, SMPTE 2022 and synchronous optical network (SONET) to video transportation. It states that SMPTE 2022 is instituted with data-centric video assets transported over networks which are essential elements for networks that use video assets for live broadcasts. Furthermore, live programming can be easily managed through the use of IP where transitioning of live event footage to multiple organizations is required.
