The article discusses the use of an integrated robot for the shearing operations of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based steel distributor and processor Lane Steel Co. It states that the decision of Lane Steel to adopt an automated shearing system with a robotic arm intends to boost the productivity. Moreover, it also explores the company's collaboration with systems integrator Automated Robotic Systems LLC (ARS) to integrate the robot into the shearing system.
