The article discusses a case where a patient from Florida who was diagnosed to have rectal cancer claimed to have informed earlier her physician about her rectal bleeding. Before the cancer discovery, the patient was noted to have hemorrhoids, however, hematology and stool hematests were negative. Clinicians are advised to ask patients for any other symptoms or concerns, and to record the response along with the history of present illness (HPI).
