ABSTRACT
The article focuses on various sonar diver detection systems or intruder detection sonars that can help countries protect their harbours from possible terrorist attacks. It describes the features of some stationary, mobile and portable detection systems from various companies such as Reson, Sonardyne, Kongsberg Mesotech, Atlas Electronic UK, Saab, Westminster International, Dsit, and Centrum Techniki Morskiej. The drawbacks of active sonars are also discussed.
