ABSTRACT
The article comments on the administrative performance of U.S. President Jimmy Carter. There were concerns regarding the expenses incurred on Carter's inaugural festivities which included fireworks, dances, concerts, scriptural readings, horse shows, symphonies, puppet shows, and a Chinese lion dance. President Carter has also been criticized for his claims of simple-living. A comparison of administrative and political performance of Carter and that of former U.S. President Thomas Jefferson is also presented in the article.
