ABSTRACT
The article presents an examination into the foreign policy doctrines of U.S. President George W. Bush in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The author contrasts the policy direction of the Bush administration before and after the attacks, noting the drastic shift in the administration's focus and the effect which the new policies had on military engagement and international relations. Further commentary is given analyzing the extent to which the Bush doctrine was as innovative or effective as first predicted when seen from 10 years in retrospect.
