ABSTRACT
The article reports on the likelihood that Austrian Federal Railways will face challenges by 2025 if it would not exert efforts to increase capacity, as discussed at a congress on rail infrastructure held in Münster, Germany on May 18, 2011. ÖBB Insfrastruktur chairman of the management board Andreas Matthä mentioned the goal of his company to invest in rail lines and upgrade programs to address the impending crisis. The construction of a central station in Wien is also cited.
