The Gotthard Base Tunnel has a European dimension

The article offers a look at the European dimension of the Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland in 2011. The first of the running tunnels was holed by miners in October 2010 while the breakthrough of the second bore occurred in March. In order for the Swiss government to face economic and political challenges brought about by the tunnel, they need to collaborate with European countries.
