ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the prevention of Legionnaires' disease to protect cooling towers. Legionella pneumophila SG1 serves as the causative agent of the most dangerous form of the disease. It presents configurations of open heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. It explains that open HVAC system is piped to allow full flow of a filter. The installation of an air screen is also recommended to lessen the impact of birds, bugs, and airborne debris on biocide feed systems.
