ABSTRACT
The article presents the basics of chilled beam systems, the coolest radiant technology in the U.S. It notes that chilled beams circulate chilled water by means of tubing implanted in a metal ceiling fixture. They are available in three types such as active, passive, and multiservice or integrated. It points out that chilled-water-supply temperature is above the ambient dew point since chilled beams do not utilize drain pans and that they are ceiling-mounted.
