ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of Dalkia PLC, owned by Veolia Environnement and Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), to commission one of the largest biomass plants in Central Europe. It notes that the 130 million euros combined heat and power (CHP) facility uses bark and forest residues in producing 74 megawatts of process steam and 50 megawatts of electricity for the French national grid. The CHP facility has been so far, the largest biomass boiler used for energy production in France.
