ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study which noted the accuracy of screening with hemoglobin (Hb) A1c levels to identify patients with diabetes. The study was conducted by researcher D.E. Olsen and colleagues, and was published in a 2010 issue of the journal "Diabetes Care." The study revealed that hemoglobin A1c levels had low sensitivity but high specificity for screening for diabetes.
