ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study which found the effectiveness of tiotropium plus beclomethasone in comparison with salmeterol plus beclomethasone in patients suffering from uncontrolled asthma. The study, conducted by S.P. Peters and colleagues of Wake Forest University Health Sciences in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, found that asthma in adults could not be controlled with beclomethasone alone and adding tiotropium to beclomethasone was superior to doubling the dose of beclomethasone.
