ABSTRACT
The article reports on the reaction of Catherine Ashton, chief of foreign policy at the European Union (EU), to the decision of the Israeli government to approve the construction of 900 homes in east Jerusalem. Ashton has expressed her disappointment over such decision, citing its potential adverse impact on the prospects for peace.
