The article offers a literary analysis of the book "La Regenta," by Leopoldo Alas. It discusses the concept of cartographic imagination, a metaphor in which the reader considers the text as a map in which one can analyze literary space in the narrative. These metaphorical maps, one marking a destination and one without, can be seen in the novel's characters and narrator. The article also discusses realism in relation to the book.
