ABSTRACT
The article offers the author's insights on the use of Avid VENUE live console in digital sound mixing. According to Avid senior market specialist Robert Scovill, VENUE does not run-time automation but onsnapshot automation and offers more hands-on in live mixing. The author adds tips in using the Fine settings versus the Coarse settings on the console which include using coarse mode during set-up, and getting away from trackball/mouse in set-up mode.
