The article focuses on the initiative taken by the author, a retired pilot in Florida, to start a network of volunteers to transport rescued animals. It describes how he got an experience of flying an abused dog from Tallahassee, Florida to Landrum, South Carolina, and decided to take the challenge of transporting rescued animals. It mentions that the author started the Pilots N Paws website for online meeting of animal rescuers and pilots willing to volunteer their time and planes in the U.S.
