The article presents the author's insights on various issues related to performance time. The author says that time is possibly the least theorised experience's element of a performance, wherein she is critical on the works of Richard Schechner and others that enhanced understanding of theatrical performance as an event situated in place and time. She notes that Schechner gives attention to the issue of time in several forms of performance including sports, theatre, and ritual. She highlights three major varieties of performance time proposed by Schechner such as event time, set time, and symbolic time. Moreover, she explores the play "The Croxton Play of the Sacrament."
