ABSTRACT
The article presents the collaboration of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineer (SCTE), Commscope Inc., and Alpha Technologies Inc. in creating a prototype powering system that offers power continuity to cable operators. It states that the powering system provides photovoltaic (PV) and hydrogen power cells during long power interruptions. SCTE chief executive officer Mark Dzuban says that system batteries last for eight hours but it uses PV power before battery power and fuel cell.
