The article reports that Nvidia is expecting to finalize a deal to buy Icera for 367 million U.S. dollars. Observers note that the acquisition will enhance Nvidia's mobile-device silicon business through integration of baseband/radio frequency (RF) chipsets from Icera. Analysts acknowledge Icera's leadership status in the long term evolution (LTE) baseband market which provides for clients such as Samsung, Apple, and Nokia.
