ABSTRACT
The article discusses Andrew Mason, the founder of the social commerce website Groupon, and the growing field of internet coupon providers. Groupon has grown quickly since it was founded in 2008 and Mason has hired internet executives including Rob Solomon, Jason Child, and Eric Lefkofsky to assist in its development. Social shopping competitors include LivingSocial and Google Offers, a social commerce site developed by internet search company Google, which once offered to buy Groupon.
