ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses deficit reduction in the United States and Republican politicians who are willing to admit truths that people might not want to hear. He talks about Republican William Bennett who warned voters to be wary of candidates who only tell them things they want to hear and calls this the Bennett Test. He mentions Republicans Ron Paul and Mitch Daniels met the Bennett Test with Daniels talking about how significant budget cuts would require reduced military spending.
