ABSTRACT
The article reports that Moses Taylor Hospital and Community Medical Center, the two remaining independent hospitals in Scranton, Pennsylvania, are merging with larger health systems. Tennessee-based Community Health Systems will acquire the assets of the two-hospital system Moses Taylor Health Care System which owns Moses Taylor Hospital, Mid-Vallet Hospital and the Physicians Health Alliance. Meanwhile, Community Medical Center will merge with Geisinger Health System.
