The article discusses actions being taken in Shanghai, China to reverse developmental sprawl under the "Better city, better life'' theme of the World Expo held there in 2010. The article notes that the project has involved demolition of most of the pavilions that occupied the Expo site. A 10-year plan is noted that will be guided by sustainability considerations.
