ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of childhood education for student achievement and success in the U.S. It says that one of the risk factor for not having education is growing up poor, which is associated with lower levels of school achievement and higher levels of behavioral problems. It emphasizes the responsibility of public schools to make sure all children have a chance at academic success. It notes the help that would be extended by early high-quality programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers to achieve the tacher's goal. It mentions that having high-quality early childhood programs could produce significant economic benefits to one's society. It stresses that the success of children in the public school starts at birth.
