ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study investigating whether graduated compression stockings (GCSs) are helpful in preventing deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in patients hospitalized for conditions other than stroke. The study found that GCSs reduced risk for DVT, both with and without a background of another prophylaxis method. Also, the findings of this study suggested and supported the use of GCSs for DVT prevention.
