ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study evaluating whether a biobehavioral, multicomponent intervention improves functioning and well-being in patients with dementia and well-being in their caregivers. This Care of Persons with Dementia in their Environments (COPE) randomized trial found that a structured program of caregiver education and patient evaluation improved patient outcomes to some extent, and improved caregiver outcomes more.
