ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study examining whether adding early palliative care to standard care improve quality of life (QOL) and end-of-life care in patients with newly diagnosed, metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The randomized controlled trial (RCT) found that early palliative care improved quality of life in patients with newly diagnosed, metastatic NSCLC. The study suggests that palliative care can be provided at any time during an illness.
