ABSTRACT
The article profiles Doctor Brian Patty, an emergency medicine specialist and chief medical informatics officer at the HealthEast Care System in Minnesota. He started working in the three-hospital system in 2005 and helped it achieved its goal of making it easy for clinicians to adhere to best practice. He co-developed a technology-enhanced monitoring tool with McKesson Corp., the electronic health-record vendor of the hospital.
