The author discusses his relationship with his grandmother. He explains that he was raised up by his grandmother after being abandoned by his parents at the age of five years. He narrates that he was taught to believe in God and deal with criticism by his grandmother. He describes that his grandmothers' teachings motivated him to participate in school activities and learn life skills.
