ABSTRACT
The article discusses the learning environment as to the transformation of students through the alchemical stages. It cites higher education values identified with dominant values such as rationality, intellect and performance leading to a neglect of societal issues such as spiritual growth, integrity and authenticity in the development of the mind. It also notes the incorporation of unfamiliar values within a traditional environment, individuation, the archetypes and alchemical transformation.
