ABSTRACT
The article discusses media richness theory (MRT) and communication in online education. It states that in MRT, richness is functional in terms of the ability of medium to attain four goals which include providing immediate feedback, sending multiple cues, and letting personal nature to be communicated. It says that a richer environment of distance education takes higher rates of student satisfaction and instructor-to-student and student-to-student communication.
