The article focuses on a study which depicts the benefit of stenting iliac arteries to patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) in the U.S. PAD is a common circulatory problems among Americans over the age of 50 and is noted to be difficult to diagnose particularly in women because only one third of patients are symptomatic. It notes that the study adds evidence that endovascular procedures can make a difference and will enhance the quality of life for patients.
