ABSTRACT
The article reports on the findings of an educational survey conducted by the American Association of School Administrators in October 2008 regarding the U.S. economic downturn where 46% of superintendents considered deferring textbook purchases, 55% of them preferred reducing instructional materials, and 55% mentioned cutting instructional improvement initiatives.
