ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of the College Business of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Co. by Cengage Learning Inc. According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the selected course areas, textbooks and materials from Cengage and Houghton Mifflin are close substitutes for a significant number of customers in the book publishing market. It also notes that Cengage titles had a more varied performance ranging from first to fourth position depending on the course.
