ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the International Open Access (OA) Week to be held on October 24-30, 2011, hosted by the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL). It states that the event has direct and widespread significance for academia, medicine, science, industry and society as a whole. It also mentions that it provides privilege for the scholars to advance knowledge by accelerating research, enriching education, and making scientific literature as useful as it can be.
