The article reports on the move of the international rights groups including Human Rights Watch, Freedom House, and Amnesty International to appeal to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) to release detained religious leaders and pro-democracy activists in Vietnam. It notes that these groups are calling for the reestablishment of Vietnam to the Countries of Particular Concern list of the U.S. government.
