ABSTRACT
The article offers a summary of a speech delivered by Billy Woodward at the Pharmacy Practice Model Summit held November 2010 in Dallas, Texas. He discussed the elements identified by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) for improving care, and highlighted the progress made in pharmacy practice over the past 50 years. Woodward also spoke about the lessons learnt from IHI and the proactive strategies that need to be considered for creating a patient-centered practice.
