ABSTRACT
The article assesses the performance of Lord Carrington as British foreign secretary. According to the author, the way the Falklands Island issue was handled was a perfect demonstration of what kind of foreign minister Lord Carrington was. The author also stated that the most absurd of Lord Carrington's initiatives was the proposal for a conference to persuade the Soviets to leave Afghanistan.
