ABSTRACT
The author greets and welcomes readers to the inaugural issue of the "Global Media Journal (GMJ)," Indian Edition, with the theme entitled "The Global Network of Communication Scholars." The author acknowledges vice chancellor and professor Suranjan Das of the Calcutta University for authorizing and supporting this significant global initiative and congratulates professor and editor Saumendranath Bera for his expressed enthusiasm, commitment and kind cooperation. The author also recognizes professor Burashiva Dasgupta as an instrument in introducing and releasing the very first issue of the journal, Indian Edition, in 2005. The author discusses goal of GMJ since the first issue was launched in fall of 2002.
