ABSTRACT
The article reports on the completion of the first front steer microtunneling project in the U.S. by Three Point Construction Inc. with the use of Bohrtec BM400L machine from Icon Tunnel Systems. According to Mike Boyd, president of the company, the bore had to be precise since they have to keep a minimum distance under existing utilities. He added that the size of the tunnel boring attachment would also be a proven issue.
