The Gastroization of GRENADA

Charles, Keith

National Review;9/17/1982, Vol. 34 Issue 18, p1144
This article presents information on the political interference of Cuba in Grenada's socio-political developments. Grenada has become the crown jewel of Cuba's Caribbean adventurism. Cuba's small but significant Grenadian adventure represents its first attempt to communize a former British Crown Colony. It is informed that the history of Grenada prior to the Cuban takeover is contained in an admirable book titled "The Hero and the Crowd," by A.W. Singham. In Grenada, Cuba's solution to unemployment has been to give the young people of both sexes uniforms and rifles and send them to Angola or Nicaragua or, for the lucky ones, to the Isle of Pines.
