The Afghan Maquisards

May 1979
National Review;5/11/1979, Vol. 31 Issue 19, p600
The article comments on the growing rebellion against the Soviet-supported regime of Afghanistan. According to the author, the tribesmen leading the rebellion are admirable in their quest to preserve the freedom of the country, although it is also sad since it is more likely that the rebellion will not succeed due to the overwhelming force of the Soviet army.
