ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the rollout of Material Works Ltd.'s Eco Pickled Surface (EPS) steel cleaning system as an environmentally friendly alternative method to acid picking. EPS basically uses high-pressure slurry spray with abrasive particles of carbon steel to strip the steel clean. It also provides several advantages over conventional pickling in steel surface preparation. Company president Kevin Vogue notes the quote requests received by TMW for EPS equipment replacing acid pickle tanks.
