ABSTRACT
The article presents an economic forecast for Vietnam for 2011. It states that the Vietnamese government's proposal to seek regulatory changes that will raise limits in foreign ownership which means that foreign investors are not allowed to own more than 30 percent of Vietnamese bank's total charter capital. It indicates the privatisation of state-owned enterprises on the coming years that reflects a sound strategy to raise competitiveness of the economy over a longer term.
