Good Show, Phyllis

National Review;8/6/1982, Vol. 34 Issue 15, p940
This article presents a tribute to women activist Phyllis Schlafly of the U.S. Phyllis Schlafly is one of the most remarkable women in the history of U.S. She has triumphed over the major media, the bureaucrats, and the "women's movement," almost single handedly. It was not a "defeat for equal rights." It was a defeat for those who wanted to give the judiciary a mandate to define "equal rights" outside the political process. The fact remains that all future feminist victories will have to be won more or less honestly.
