ABSTRACT
The article reports on global political developments as of June 1980. The summit meeting of Western leaders has been threatened with terrorism by the notorious Red Brigades. The activity of the group has declined and authorities look forward to and effective end of an eight-year reign of senseless political violence. Gerardo Zampaglione, Italian ambassador to Switzerland, described the Swiss as pharisees who think they are the navel of the world and believe to be protected from calamities which befall other people. South African scientists have developed a nuclear artillery shell capable of being fired by 155 millimeter howitzers with an accurate range of over thirty miles. "Debrett's Peerage," is planning to issue a new guide to etiquette in response to the changing pattern of British manners.
